Results
Article 15: The results of the admission test are final and may not be appealed.
Article 16: The number of students admitted will depend on the school’s capacity and will be based on the final admission score cutoff.
Article 17: Admission is valid only for the academic year in which the process is conducted.

Admission Test Details

Admission Test
Article 10: The admission test will be conducted in person and in a physical format.
Article 11: The Admission Test aims to evaluate the aptitudes of applicants seeking admission to the seventh grade at LHHCEB José Figueres Ferrer through two subject areas:
a) Spanish: Analysis of reading comprehension level, grammar, analogies, main and supporting ideas, literary figures, paragraph sequencing, cause-and-effect relationships, appreciative code, image interpretation, synonyms, antonyms, proverbs, popular sayings, and literary language.
b) Mathematics:
Numbers: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, exponents, and simplification of fractions.
Number Theory: Division algorithm, divisibility, factors, multiples, prime numbers, composite numbers, prime factorization, least common multiple, greatest common divisor, and problem solving.
Algebra: Equations, sequences, relations, rule of three.
Geometry: Angles, quadrilaterals, regular polygons, areas, circles, perimeters, and shaded areas.
Article 12: The test constitutes 100% of the final admission grade. It will consist of 60 multiple-choice items: 30 items in Spanish and 30 items in Mathematics. Each item will have four answer options, of which only one is correct. The test will be prepared by an institutional commission of subject-matter professionals (Spanish and Mathematics), selected and supervised by the School Administration. The admission test materials are exclusive property of the institution.
Article 13: The test will be administered on the premises of LHHCEB José Figueres Ferrer. Students must attend wearing the uniform of the primary school where they are currently enrolled in sixth grade and must present an official identification document (minor’s ID card, passport, student ID). The test administration will be carried out by teaching staff appointed as proctors under the supervision of the director. The presence of lawyers and notaries from HHC may be considered to certify the process. The test may be conducted in person or virtually depending on circumstances. The School Administration reserves the right to make decisions regarding the methodology and scheduling of the test.

Article 14: Liceo HHC Experimental Bilingüe José Figueres Ferrer will publish, on the institutional dates and through official digital media, a list of admitted students. The list will include the registration number assigned during the enrollment process, the password assigned, the grade obtained on the admission exam, and the admission status (admitted/not admitted).
Article 15: The results of the admission test are final and not subject to appeal.

We answer the most common questions about the admission process.
If the student has approved curricular supports at their primary school, the legal guardian must indicate this on the registration form and submit a certification signed by the administration of the originating educational institution. This document must be sent by email to admision2025@liceofigueres.org within the deadline established by the institution.

Article 13 – Location and Requirements for the Admission Test
The admission test will be administered at the facilities of the LHHCEB José Figueres Ferrer. Students must attend wearing the uniform of the primary school where they are currently enrolled in sixth grade and must present an official identification document (minor’s ID card, passport, or student ID).
The test will be administered by teaching staff designated as test supervisors, under the direction of the school principal. Additionally, the presence of HHC lawyers or notaries may be considered to formally certify the process.
The test may be administered in person or virtually, depending on the circumstances. The school administration reserves the right to make any necessary decisions regarding the test’s format and scheduling.
According to Article 12, the admission test accounts for 100% of the final admission score.
The test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions:
30 questions in Spanish
30 questions in Mathematics
Each question has four answer choices, with only one correct option.
The test is developed by an institutional committee of subject specialists in Spanish and Mathematics, selected and supervised by the school administration.
⚠️ The admission test is exclusive institutional material and cannot be shared externally.
Only students who present a valid justification (medical or official document) will be considered for a rescheduled date.
Article 16 – The number of students admitted to enter seventh grade will be determined by the Institution, based on its facility capacity to maintain the quality of the educational service provided, and strictly in accordance with the final cutoff score of each applicant's admission test results.
The right to admission is confirmed only by completing the pre-enrollment and enrollment processes within the dates established by the Institution. If this procedure is not carried out, the right to admission will be forfeited.
Article 19° - The Liceo HHC Experimental Bilingüe José Figueres Ferrer reserves the ultimate right to deny admission to a student for seventh grade if the student did not pass the conduct grade during any grading period or the final average in fourth, fifth, or sixth grade of Basic General Education. A certificate from the previous school showing the conduct grades must be provided. This certificate must be issued no more than fifteen days prior to the pre-enrollment process.
